Terms of Use
Last updated: 9 October 2026
These terms apply to the Lunatale app (“Lunatale: Bedtime Stories”) and this website, provided by Necip Fazıl Akay (“we”, “us”). By using Lunatale you agree to them. They apply together with Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement; where the two differ, these terms apply to the extent the law allows.
1. Who can use Lunatale
Lunatale is meant to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian who is an adult in their country. Children may enjoy the stories under that adult's supervision. The adult is responsible for the account, for the information entered about the child and for any purchases.
2. Your account
The app creates a guest account automatically. If you do not connect it to Sign in with Apple, your library and purchases are tied to that installation and may be lost if you delete the app or change devices; purchases can always be restored through Apple. Keep your Apple account secure, since anyone with access to your device can use the app.
3. Free use and Premium
- Free: one story per day (reset at midnight in your time zone), plus sleep stories. We may change what the free plan includes.
- Premium is an auto-renewing subscription that removes the daily limit and unlocks premium features such as personalised stories. Current plans and prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Free trial: eligible new subscribers get a free trial (currently 3 days). Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged. A trial can be used once per Apple account.
- Billing and renewal: payment is charged to your Apple account. The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancelling: go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Premium stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies (reportaproblem.apple.com). Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
- Price changes are communicated by Apple in advance and, where required, need your consent.
4. The stories
All stories, illustrations, narration and other content in Lunatale belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them in the app for private, non-commercial purposes. Please do not copy, record, redistribute or resell them.
5. Personalised stories
Personalised stories are written automatically by artificial intelligence based on your choices. We instruct and filter it to produce gentle, age-appropriate stories, but automatically generated text and pictures can still contain mistakes or something you would rather your child not see. Please look over a new story before or while reading it, and report anything inappropriate to us. Personalised stories are for your family's private use. Usage limits may apply and are shown in the app.
6. Acceptable use
Do not misuse Lunatale, for example by trying to get around the daily limit or the subscription, accessing it with automated tools, interfering with its security, reverse engineering it where the law does not allow it, or entering offensive or unlawful content in names or prompts.
7. Feedback
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Lunatale without any obligation to you.
8. Changes and availability
We keep improving Lunatale, so features and stories may change, be added or removed. We try to keep the service available but cannot guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. If we materially change these terms we will update the date above and tell you in the app.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using Lunatale and delete your account at any time (Parent area → Delete account). Deleting the account does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel it in your Apple settings. We may suspend accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
10. Liability
Lunatale is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
11. Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring claims before the courts or consumer arbitration bodies available to you there.
